Isokon starts 2008 with a bang and an Online User Group

Isokon has emerged as the clear leader and de facto standard for trust and probate software. Its software has been adopted by six regional firms within the last month before Christmas:

Beviss & Beckingsale (Axminster and Chard), Bray & Bray (Leicester and Market Harborough), Challinors (West Bromwich), Frettens (Christchurch), George Ide Phillips (Chichester) and Hague Lambert (Knutsford and Manchester).

This brings the total number of firms using Isokon to more than 80, of which 15 are Top100 firms, and the total number of individual users to more than 800.

Isokon’s success has been assisted by its successful integration with TFB’s Partner for Windows practice management system. A quarter of Isokon’s customers are integrated sites. Mark Garnish, TFB’s Business Development Director, comments:

“The Isokon product does everything that we want it to do. It supplements our own software very well and provides a seamless service to our customers.”

An example of Isokon’s penetration of the high-end marketplace is Charles Russell, one of Isokon’s Top100 customers. The firm previously used Lawbase for probate work and Solution Six for trust work. After running a trial of Isokon’s probate software online across the internet for two years, Charles Russell decided to adopt the Isokon software and bring the service inhouse for all its offices nationwide.

A good part of Isokon’s success can be attributed to its very comprehensive case management module. Integrated with the Isokon software, it has resulted in a more effective solution than the attempts of a leading case management software supplier to attempt the process in reverse by adding a trust and probate module to its case management software. “This work is just too specialised for such a hack approach,” claimed one prospective buyer after surveying the marketplace.

The reasons for their success according to Isokon’s Managing Director, Gregory van Dyk Watson:

“We have invested more heavily in developing a complete solution than any other provider in this area of work. The quality of our support team, made up of former practitioners enables the company to operate more as a business partner than just a software supplier. We provide practical advice on the handling of trust and probate matters, and help our users solve complex taxation issues.”

Isokon is consolidating its success by launching an Online User Group in January 2008. Existing users will be able to use the forum to pool and share their experiences of the software and discuss issues in dealing with trust and probate matters.
